The dry leaves are a mixture of black and coppery brown, flecks of green and a good amount of silver tips. The dry leaves leave you with a musky and mildly floral aroma. The infusion is a striking coppery honey color with the distinctive "muscatel" aroma that Second Flush Darjeeling tea is so famous for. A cup of Margaret's Hope Tea has one of its kind musky sweetness, very pleasant astringency and a lovely bittersweet finish. History :

Unlike most Indian teas, this delicious and rich drink is normally made from the small-leaved Chinese variety of Camellia sinensis var. sinensis. Darjeeling tea is a tea from the Darjeeling district in West Bengal, India.

Cup Characteristics: A delicate tending astringent cup with the distinctive 'Muscatel' character.Hints of currant create an almost wine-like taste.
Infusion: Bright tending light

Hot tea-brewing method: Bring freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place 1tsp of tea for each cup into teapot. Add boiling water, cover and let steep 3 - 7 minutes. Add milk and sugar to taste. Acceptable to consume 'straight up'.

Iced tea-brewing method: (1 quart/liter) Place 6 tsps of tea in a heat resistant pitcher. Add 1¼ cups freshly boiled water. Steep 5 min. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with ice water. Add steeped tea and fill with ice water. Garnish and sweeten to taste. (Please note: Top quality tea may cloud when iced (its OK) due to their naturally high flavonoid/polyphenol levels).
